Hydronic floor heating takes place, when the hot water from a boiler is circulated through different ducts to heat up your floors. This is a process, where your rooms get heated up due to the joint effects of conduction, convection and radiation.
The working method
In the hydroponic heating, system water is heated in a boiler to 35 to 35 degree Celsius and then circulated through an intricate pipeline laid under the floor. To ensure smooth movement a water pump is used to keep the circulation on. The pipes used are normally high-grade plastic pipes with antioxidant property. Because the system needs very high-quality thermostats, manifolds, valve etc., to work naturally cost per unit area is important. But once installed, the system runs at least a generation and the maintenance is limited to periodic cleaning and maintaining the thermostats only. Though a good quality thermostat will carry a warranty if five years.

The overall ambiance
The best use of the hydroponic heating system is for a large area to be cost effective. And it must be planned at the time of construction to make it a cost effective solution. For old building the floor must have a concrete base, and the minimum thickness can’t be less than50mm. The indoor air quality does not suffer from dust, mites and any other insects, and the floor surface does not get damaged due to overheating, as hydronic floor heating can be channelized very smoothly with the help of soft ducts.
Maintaining the system
The system needs maintenance, but most of these are routine. If you use a boiler it will accumulate deposits known as boiler scales; you must clean it to save the boiler. The system uses thermostats, and these are no ordinary gadget; you can program it for a week and it will control the heat as pet your program.
